Founded in 1983 the Specialty Chemical Division of Etna Products, Inc. has developed a line of high solids oil-free saturated polyester resins for the industrial coatings market. These high solids polyesters are used in the formulation of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) compliant paints and coatings. The polyester resins sold under Etna’s SCD trademark, allow customers to produce paints and coatings with low levels of solvent while retaining superior application and coatings properties. The use of SCD high solids polyester resins enables the coatings chemist to comply with the most stringent regulations promulgated by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
